So what type of dehumidifier should you get? There are a lot of distinct styles of dehumidifiers out there as well as many famous brands as well. The first thing is size. You in effect need to get one that is big adequate for the size room you are looking to treat. With that being said, the larger you go, the more high-priced the dehumidifier will be, so don't over purchase either. Just make sure that you look at each models specification and plan accordingly.

What else should you look for when you are buying a dehumidifier for basement moisture? Well one other thing is, do you have a sink or not. If you do, then go ahead and spend a few extra dollars and buy one that comes with a tube. How this works is, as the dehumidifier sucks the moisture from the air, it will automatically deposit it straight through the hose and out into your sink.

That way, you don't have to worry about emptying a bucket every other day or so. Now if you don't have a sink, then make sure you buy a dehumidifier that comes with an automatic shutoff once the bucket is full. You don't want the dehumidifier to continue to run after the water bucket is full.
