For your money, you are getting a reasonable level of quality. The cursed Doa (dead on arrival) is much less likely when you pick up a model in this high price range by a potential constructor like Winix. However, you are paying for this luxury. If you do end up getting a bad apple. Their warranty is rather inclusive so you should be able to get a change shipped back to you fairly quickly.
Overall
For the money you are paying, there are probably good dehumidifiers out there. That's not to say that this one does not do it's job well. You will get exactly what you expect out of a dehumidifier if you purchase this model, but you are not going to get the extra bells and whistles that are typically connected with dehumidifiers at the high end of the spectrum. This model is not a bad option if you are at a bodily retail store where they only have one or two dehumidifiers in stock, but you may want to think picking up a separate model that's a good bargain if you are buying online.

I got my dehumidifier for years and I can say that it is truly one of the best to control the humidity level at home.
